Madison

13 Avril

Today I woke up at 6:20am and felt really energetic, of course, in France it was 1am! But around 1am here, I felt so tired. I ate a kind of brioche but very sweet, and some melon. They used to eat grilled bagels so maybe I'm going to have one tomorrow.
Yesterday we had a lot of adventures. The most striking thing was at Chicago airport when we had to check our passports. Raphael and William inverted their passports so Raphael had to go to the police, I found it funny but I guess Mrs Peyrano was mad.
Then, we took a school bus to Sauk Prairie High School to meet our correspondents. Everyone slept during the bus ride, seats were so comfortable. The cold hit us as we left the bus. When I arrived at my hosting house, I fell asleep so quickly.

Tina, my American correspondent, drove me to high school with her little brother at 7:20am. As we got into the school, we heard some music coming from the gym where boys go every morning to work out. Then people singing. We put something in the typical locker. We went to French class and met Madame and some of the exchange students.

For our first hour, we didn't have any class so we walked around the school. There are 2 basketball grounds, a pool, 6 tennis courts and other outside activities grounds. That is crazy. They also have so many different classes, Biology, Agriculture, Astronomy, Algebra, Spanish, French, English, Economy, Politics, Art, Technology (this class is crazy I'll take a picture once), Sociology, Psychology, History, US history, a big variety of sports, music etc.. We sat at the cafeteria and talked with some of Tina's friends. They were nice. One of them was eating some weird fried thing at 8 in the morning but that's alright.

Second hour, we had psychology, very interesting. The lesson was about different parents' behaviors, the consequences on children and then different stages of children's evolution. Is parenting something we do instinctively or do we have to take parenting lessons?
It's gratifying when you see you can understand almost everything in a class.

Then art class, I met Nais again. American students were doing pottery and the teacher invited us to do it too. We had a lot of fun doing those pots.

We went back to the cafeteria and met Emma and ate some vegetables. There were some little milk bricks, every student takes this little brick of milk. I tasted a milk cheesy cream, it was little balls of cheese in a milky sauce, it was okay. Emma was eating some grilled sweet potatoes soaked in a tomato sauce plus a part of pizza. Some other girls were eating peanut butter sandwiches and Ficellos cheese. Some guys were eating sandwiches and I saw some with junk food too like McDonald.

With Tina and a friend of hers, we went to Bridges Elementary School, we played Go fish, it's a little card game, it was fun and I learnt some animals name ha ha..... A little boy approximately aged 3/4 asked Tina why was I speaking like that so we explained I was from a different country. Another one asked where I got her, maybe using a "flying car".

For the last hour, we got to school for Economy class, the representatives of a bank came. They were singing electronic banking 's praises but I wasn't convinced. Apparently here, there are a lot of people using that system of electronic/ mobile banking. I don't know if it is the same in France but I have never really heard about it.

School finished at 3:25pm, Tina and I got to Culver`s and had an ice cream, a Sunday with nuts, caramel and chocolate, it was huge I couldn't finish it.

Then we went to Walmart`s, the landscape was great. We saw a lot of great houses and lakes.

For dinner, we had carrots, salad, cucumbers, pasta and some other veggies.

I am still so tired today. I'm hoping tomorrow I'm going to be alright.
